Stop asking vegans about protein

As every vegan, ever, I constantly get asked where do I get my protein from? Sorry to break it to you, but animal protein is just recycled protein from plants. Animals don´t magically just create protein in their bodies or unicorn shine their light on animals and poof protein appears. You are what you eat. Most animals consumed by humans eat fully plant based diet and from that they observe protein into their own bodies. Sorry to break it to you, but many of vegetables you eat, legumes (lentils, peas), bread, rise and list goes on, contains protein. Already you don´t receive your all proteins just from meat. As plant plant based diet goes, eating all plant based foods provides same amount of protein, and my food didn´t die screaming for it´s poor life. And of course, all plant based ´meat´ replacements have enough of protein and are as much filling as meat products, if not more.
Same goes for milk product replacements, if you put 2 cartons together, milk and for example oat milk, and check what they contain, oat milk will contain same amount of calcium, B12, protein and so on. 3 glasses of vegan ´milk´ replacement will provide your body much needed calcium. As plant based ´yoghurts´ or other replacements for milk. Or calcium can be easily consume without any milk replacement adding, for example, sesame seeds to your salad. As also you receive calcium from other veggies during the day, like broccoli (which also contains good amount of protein as many other goodies, since it´s super food), kale or legume family greens (beans).
I also receive quite enough questions for B12, which is total nonsense. I am very sorry to break it to you, if you were sleeping during your biology lesions, B12 does not magically appears in animals like a rainbow. B12 is a bacteria. Google it if you don´t believe me. Animals being in fields and drinking unsensitized water used to receive it naturally and observe it to their bodies and humans received as so ´recycled´ though eating animal products. Now animals are also fed B12 supplements, and you eat it ´recycled´ when you buy animal products. So why don´t just buy supplement in pharmacy and get it directly and and non-recycled version? That´s how I do it. And I am proud that my body receives everything it needs and my food didn´t suffer.
As for Omega-3, chia and hemp seeds, brussels sprouts, walnuts, perilla oil, algal oil (they make vegan Omega-3 supplements from that also). My personal favorite is seaweed, as I like making sushi with veggies and eating seaweed chips.
Of course any pro-meat would argue and argue because they just hate facts staring to their face. And most of doctors can give good advice on nutrition because they didn´t study it enough, only nutrition specialist, who studied about plant based and non plant based diet can answer all of your questions.
I am not a professional nutrition, it´s just a hobby, and I did my research to know what´s good for my body and I am as healthy as I can be (health checks I do proves it). And I have been fully plant based for 4 years, prior being vegetarian for 10 years.
I hope this answered your questions and you will stop asking vegans same over and over again, it´s annoying and boring.
Sincerely,
- Simona
